Devil's Bit Scabiosa  Succisa pratensis

This small button of blue fills hedgerows. bogs and scrubby grasslands near the sea.  Since meeting this Flower in 1998, I have been uncomfortable with its name.  Jane and Dieter Stark's book Connemara Wild Flowers explains that  the plant's healing properties were considered so strong that the devil was thought to have tried to kill the plant by biting off it's roots.  This story explained the truncated root which the Flower has as well as its odd name.

"I AM another Flower addressing the situation of constraint and limitation.  Consider me if circumstances have narrowed in your life, especially in terms of the physical aspects of your incarnation.  I am a particular help with grounding you in the power and strength you have even when your physical vehicle is challenged or under constraint."

I AM the bold expression of my eternal self no matter the physical constraints placed upon me.
