DEVIL’S BIT SCABIOSA Succisa pratensis

This small button of blue fills hedgerows, bogs and scrubby grasslands near the sea. Jane and Dieter Stark’s ‘Connemara Wild Flowers’ explains the Flower’s peculiar name;  The plant’s healing properties were considered so strong that the devil was thought to have tried to kill the plant by biting off its roots.  This story explained the Flower’s truncated root as well as its odd name.

Devil’s Bit Scabiosa explains its strengths, “I AM another Flower addressing the situation of constraint and limitation.  Consider me if circumstances have narrowed in your life, especially in terms of the physical aspects of your incarnation.  I AM a particular help with grounding you in the power and strength you have, even when your physical body is challenged or under constraint.”

I AM the bold expression of my eternal self no matter the physical constraints placed upon me.
