LAVENDER Lavandula augustifolia

Lavender has long been a protective presence around our Mary Roses and our pool dedicated to Sophia and the sacred wisdom of the feminine. Lavender’s work in our gardens and ability to smooth the electrical field of even the most jangled baby or child led me to focus my past descriptions of Lavender Essence on the ways she offers protection to our electrical systems. 

Lavender asked me to expand my description of her strengths in this new guide.  While intent on protecting the feminine in all of us, she explained that she is equally intent on helping us to embody and express this feminine wisdom.  She explains that to move humanity beyond patriarchy, we must balance our inner knowing with wise action.  Furthermore, she says, now is the time to act. 

Lavender Flowers are wands of intense aromatic blue. This echoes Lavender’s support to express what we know with our whole being. It’s only through this full and active embodiment of our divinity that we can reclaim the planet from the depredations of ego, unchecked by divine feminine wisdom.

Lavender’s support for the expression of our sacred wisdom reminds me of how Emily Dickinson referred to her poems, hidden in her bureau drawer.  The Lavender sachets in most ladies’ bureaus became her metaphor for the treasure of her poetry.  Her poetry reflects that even as she dealt with one patriarchal person after another standing in the way of her publishing her work, she had complete confidence that her poetry would be heard and her work would prevail in the world.  Lavender was both a metaphor of protection and a metaphor for the forces that would bring her work into the world in its own time.  Emily and Lavender remind us not to discount our wisdom as pedestrian or destined to molder in our own bureau drawers. They show us how to cherish our wisdom, and now, at this time in Earth’s evolution, know its time has come at last.

I AM the focus of divine will, moving through my whole being and illuminating my path so that I remain in a state of divine clarity at all times.
